Róbson de Souza (Brazil), more commonly known as Robinho, is a Brazilian footballer who currently plays as a striker for Brazilian Série A club Santos on loan from Premier League side Manchester City. He is also a member of the Brazilian national team.
Robinho was personally picked by Brazil legend Pelé as his heir apparent at only 15 years of age and went on to lead Santos to their first Campeonato Brasileiro title since Pelé himself played for the same legendary Brazilian club. Since then he has won another title with Santos and two more with Real Madrid as well. With Brazil, Robinho has one Copa América title and two Confederations Cups with Brazil.

I've always been a fan of David Hockney's work, through all the changes in style and exploration of colour and form applied to canvas that he has pursued over the years. Posters and prints of his work probably run into the hundreds by now, and I really like them. Here is a random selection:

Massimiliano Fuksas designed the My Zeil Mall in the PalaisQuartier region of Frankfurt, Germany, completed in 2009.
The shopping mall resembles the Milan Trade Fair by Fuksas, which had a large rectangular glass pavilion curving around the blocky forms of the structures inside. The vortex at the front entrance also recalls the BMW Welt museum in Munich.
In the Frankfurt mall MyZeil, the negative space of the exterior public realm swirls with 3,200 triangular glass pieces into the heart of the complex, with glass structure folding and flexing according to advantageous views and circulation strategies. The 6000 m2 of roof collects its rainwater for reuse. Vast elevators circulate people efficiently from store to store.

Catedral de Brasília, completed in 1970. Lúcio Costa also contributed to the city's design.
The Catedral Metropolitana Nossa Senhora Aparecida is a hyperboloid design with 16 concrete columns squeezing toward the center and then flaying out into the sky. The design recalls hands reaching up toward heaven, with a circular movement that recalls the eternity of ancient designs. Unlike previous such buildings, the concrete structure is filled with a ceiling of pure glass. The floor curves up to reach the glass at a threshhold above eye level.
The modernism of Le Corbusier took root in Brazil mainly through Niemeyer's innovations.

Mark Hearld was born in York in 1974, where he continues to live and work. Hearld studied illustration at Glasgow School of Art followed by an MA in Natural History Illustration at the Royal College of Art.
Animals and plants have remained a constant source of inspiration to him, and are his most popular subjects. He has been greatly influenced by Picasso's style of spontaneous drawing; increasingly though it is the Englishness of Edward Bawden, Eric Ravilious and John Piper which has absorbed his attention, above all in his lithography and linocuts. He also produces unique paintings, collages and hand-painted ceramics.
