The Incredible Hulk

What happens when a man is caught in the awesome fury of an exploding gamma-bomb? You might expect he would be incinerated, but in the fertile imaginations of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby he becomes Hulk, a brutal powerhouse gifted with superhuman strength, stamina, durability-and a seemingly uncontrollable rage. Also, he's all green.

The Hulk is a Marvel Comics character that has been adapted several times for TV and the movies. In 2003, Ang Lee made The Hulk starring Eric Bana as Dr. Robert Bruce Banner and Jennifer Connelly as Betty Ross, but it failed to live up to fans' memories of the 1978 television show.

Now, Hollywood is hoping for a surer strike in a second Hulk movie, slated for release on June 13, 2008. Produced by Marvel Studios, The Incredible Hulk stars Edward Norton as Banner and Liv Tyler as Ross. More has changed in the movie than just the leads. The Hulk will be up against Abomination this go around, an evil force who is almost as strong as the Hulk himself.

The Incredible Hulk takes off from where The Hulk had left off; deep in the South American jungles. Pitted against both the external danger of US Army, led by Betty's father General Thunderbolt Ross, and the internal danger of the Hulk sleeping deep within him, Dr. Bruce Banner is trying hard to find a cure for the menace he harbors. This film will differ from its predecessor in its focus on the struggle between Dr. Bruce Banner and the Hulk. It's about being strong one moment and being helpless in the other. It's about being subject to drives and urges beyond your control. Dr. Bruce Banner has faced a lot, and the only thing he now fears is his own anger and rage

The first Hulk comic appeared back in May 1962, and featured a monster with...gray skin! By the second issue he was green, and he ran for many years in Tales to Astonish before reclaiming his own title. Sometimes a mindless brute, sometimes a thoughtful, and even dapper, man of science, the Hulk has undergone many transformations in his time. In the current comic series, a mysterious, gun-totin' red Hulk appears to have separated from Bruce Banner altogether.

In addition to the fondly-remembered live-action series with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno (the only time the Hulk has been played by a real person), the Hulk has been animated in his own cartoon in 1966, 1982 and 1996. An animated Hulk was also noticeable in the 2003 movie release, when a computer-generated image of the Hulk rampaged incongruously Ang Lee's thoughtful, deliberately paced family drama.

A CGI Hulk will return in the latest movie, which promises 100% more smashing, in addition to a taut Jekyll and Hyde psychodrama. Previews have stressed that 2003's experimentation and long, character-driven scenes have given way to faster-paced Summer movie fare. Rumor has it that Ed Norton is not necesarily happy with the decision to focus on hulking action and Kirby-style extended fight scenes, but frustrated fans should be celebrating at the idea of two green goliaths duking it out on the big screen. Will Hulk prove to be the "strongest there is"?

We tried to ask Hulk about his prospects, but he gave us the brush off, saying, "Puny humans hound Hulk, harry Hulk. But Hulk just wants to be left alone."

The History of Captain America

In the year of 1941, the world was introduced to Captain America Comics. Nearly seventy years later, Marvel has continued to share Captain America Comics with the world. An estimated two hundred million copies of this famous comic book has been sold in nearly one hundred countries around the world. Captain America Comics was created by Mr. Jack Kirby and Mr. Joe Simon.

These two men have been recognized as two of the most amazing comic book creators of all time. Apart from Captain America, these two men have also brought us the wondrous creations of famous characters such as Manhunter, Sandman, and aided in the creation of the Incredible Hulk, the X-Men, and numerous others.

Captain America Comics rose to fame at the time of publication due to the politics and wars of the time in which this particular character emerged. Dubbed "American" and fighting for justice, Captain America emerged proclaiming to assist America in a time of war and desperation. His costume was creatively designed by using the Flag of America as its main theme.

The shield, which was said could not be destroyed, could be used as a defense and as a weapon. Captain America was created due to the fact that the man behind the mask, Steve Rogers, was issued an experimental drug. This drug provided a weak man with amazing strength and accurate reflexes.

While Captain America Comics was created due to the political tensions that were occurring in the world during that time, not everyone viewed this comic creation favorably. Many people felt that the creation was generally stereotypical of the hate and prejudice that they felt was the reason for the political complications of the time.

However, despite these low blows, Captain America Comics continued to grow in popularity with the United States. Some say that this creation by Captain America Comics gave them relief and hope in a time where fear and desperation were common elements throughout society.

Throughout the history of Captain America Comics, this superhero played alongside of many popular superheroes. These include the "Iron Man", the "Golden Girl", as well as the "Human Torch”". The interaction between Captain America's character and these additional superheroes was the fuel that lit the fire of the flame that increased interest among comic book fans.

Famous comic book egos such as Stan Lee, Otto Binder, Bill Finger, and Alex Ross have played, and will continue to play an essential role in the development of the three dimensional character and tales that surround the story as originated by Captain America Comics.

In the year of 2008, the world will be introduced to the new and improved Captain America Comics. This particular series will work on the notion that Captain America is a time traveler. Captain America Comics will pose that the character has been brought from the past to the future.

Returning with Captain America in this popular comic book series will be his team that is often referred to as "the Invaders". This is sure to be a true adventure in the Captain America Comic book series for the die-hard fans.

In conclusion, Captain America Comics has a rich history of protecting the very foundation of American philosophy. While they have not always been commended on doing so, they still manage to deliver a powerful punch that makes them exceptionally popular. Captain America Comics will continue to favor forces to the United States of America through riveting political story lines and beliefs.

Beware the "Ides of August" - there are just too many people who are too bullish right now

It really scares me when I hear whole panels of people on the finance shows and they are all so bullish after such a run-up we had in the month of July. There is no way that this thing is going straight up from here. it just doesn't work that way. So patience is the watch word and if you have taken profits here keep them on the sidelines for now.
There are a few technology stocks here that you can keep in mind that have very good balance sheets. Two semi-conductor stocks that have 3:1 Asset to debt ratios. Those are Marvell Technology, (MRVL), and Triquint Semiconductor , Inc. ,(TQNT). I do not own either of these yet but would be interested after the correction.,
My favorite stock in the technology sector and one that I do own is InterDigital , (IDCC) , that is a company I consider to be a baby Qualcomm in the 3G cellular space. They own 3000 patents in the 3G technology and are very well positioned for the transition in cellular phone technology for voice and data. The proliferation of the Apple I-Phones and the RIM Blackberry's sucking up bandwidth with video and Internet web browsing are taxing the current cellular systems and changes will need to be made quickly to keep up with customer demand.

So. for the short term , keep your powder dry and raise some cash for the sidelines.

Best Regards,

freewilly

Record cold in New York City all summer long

Like a squirrel storing nuts for the winter, I am saving links to articles about the record cold so I can use them the first time the MSM/DNC seizes upon some warm day in January or some heat wave as evidence for the hoax known as "global warming." In New York City, residents are enjoying the "coolest June and July since either 1903 or 1881 . . . "
This was the sixth coolest July on record. The high was 86 on July 17. For June and July, the average as of Thursday was 70.6, the third coolest. As of the end of the day Thursday, the average temperature in July was 72.6, nearly four degrees below normal.

“A monthly departure of four degrees below normal is very significant,” said Gary Conte, a National Weather Service meteorologist.

The relatively cool first half of summer in the Northeast and Upper Midwest has had far-reaching effects.

In New York, Con Ed produced 5.5 percent less power in June than the year before, never appealed for special conservation protocols and reported no blackouts or brownouts. Daily peak use, which reached 10,934 megawatts on Tuesday, was well below this summer’s projected high of 11,945 megawatts. Many electric bills have shrunk by 6 percent or more.

Attendance at city beaches through July 28 was down 30 percent, from 7.3 million to 5.1 million.

From July 1 to 28 in 2008, the Emergency Medical Service answered 134 heat-related calls. This year, there were 41. In 2008, the office of the chief medical examiner blamed the heat for nine deaths, all in June. This year, not a single heat-related death has been reported.

The threshold for opening cooling centers for the aging and other vulnerable New Yorkers was never reached. Nor was the 90-degree trigger requiring that carriage horses be stabled.

Of course, it is likely that the "experts" of the global warming religion will tell us to "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" as they urge us to surrender our industries. "Who are you going to believe, me or your own eyes?" they seem to ask with every denial of the obvious.
