Where does the name "chupacabra" come from?

Why: A live one was captured in Dumbshit, OK.
Answer: The Spanish words chupar, "to suck" + cabra, "goat" = "goat sucker"

You may also be interested to know that the first reported attacks by the chupacabra date all the way back to 1995.

The More You Know: Just kidding, it's a mangy raccoon, but this is my favorite part of that story:
