Ott Architekten designed this oval office building for Cancom IT, an information technology company, in Jettingen- Scheppach in Baden-Württemberg, completed in 2001. Strips of windows punch through a metallic ellipse. It is suspended over a glass public space on the ground level. Rather than fitting into this scenic area of Southern Germany the project stands out as a human intervention and points views out to the forests and fields. The stainless steel metal facade stands prominently atop a hill like a minimal, modern version of the castles that dot this lush landscape. It was extended with a dark grey box on ground level in 2007.
