Obama: 'Apologize to Turkey or else'
On Wednesday, I reported that the Netanyahu government had decided that it would not apologize to Turkey over the Mavi Marmara incident. There were two different versions of the story. One, linked in the post above, claimed that Secretary of State Clinton had demanded that Israel apologize to Turkey, and that Israel had refused. The second version portrayed Clinton as having requested or

Government denies Clinton asked Israel to apologize to Turkey
In an earlier post, I reported that the Netanyahu government had refused a request from Secretary of State Clinton to apologize to Turkey over the Mavi Marmara incident. Israel Radio reports in its 11:00 pm news update that the report that Clinton asked Israel to apologize is 'not accurate.'
JPost is reporting that Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has said that he regrets that the decision

Netanyahu tells Clinton Israel won't apologize to Turkey
Prime Minister Netanyahu has told US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that Israel will not apologize to Turkey for last year's Mavi Marmara incident. That's final - for now. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu refused requests by US Secretary of State Hilliary Clinton on Tuesday to apologize to Turkey for the deaths of nine IHH activists aboard the Mavi Marmara in May 2010, Army Radio reported

Livni's Atlantic interview nothing new for Israel's Left
Remember that horrible interview opposition leader Tzipi Livni did with the Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg in which she urged President Obama to keep pressuring Netanyahu? Caroline Glick argues that Israel's Left has been doing the same thing at least since the 'Palestinians' rejected Ehud Barak's offer at Camp David 11 years ago. Livni's position is consistent with the position the Israeli Left

Surprise: Peres undermining Netanyahu government
Two weeks ago, I reported that Israel's favorite space cadet had met with 'Palestinian' chief negotiator bottle washer Saeb Erekat. Now, it turns out that Peres also held four 'secret' meetings with 'moderate' 'Palestinian' President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen. President Mahmoud Abbas revealed he held four secret meetings with his Israeli counterpart Shimon Peres in a bid to revive stalled

Netanyahu won't be the first
The Shmuel Katz blog reports that if Prime Minister Netanyahu caves in to President Obama and agrees to 'negotiations' based on the 1949 armistice lines, he will join a long line of Israeli leaders who abandoned reasonable positions under American pressure.Unfortunately, Netanyahu joins a long list of backpedaling Israeli leaders whose talk doesn’t match up with their walk. In “Surrender to
No apology to Turkey
The Israeli government has decided to look out for Israel, and as a result has left Barack Hussein Obama holding the bag. Obama deserves it.
The Obama administration convinced Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman to agree not to bring down the government in the event that Israel apologized to Turkey for the Mavi Marmara incident. But Netanyahu decided not to apologize anyway (the Israeli media is

Finally: Israel to build 4,300 housing units in Jerusalem
On Wednesday night, Prime Minister Netanyahu had what his office described as a 'friendly' phone conversation with American President Barack Hussein Obama. When Obama awakens on Thursday morning, he is likely to be in a much fouler mood 9and he might have even been awakened during the night in Washington to hear about this: Interior Minister Eli Yishai gave final approval on Thursday to the

Ethnic cleansing, an Obamanation
In an earlier post, I reported that the White House had cleansed its web site from pictures referencing "Jerusalem, Israel."
That post only showed one altered picture. Here is a video with several more.
Let's go to the videotape (the person who sent this did not give me a name so I cannot give them a hat tip).

Oy vey: 'I can hardly remember a better period of US support for Israel'
Defense Minister Ehud Barak told Fox News' Greta van Sustern this week that he can hardly remember a better period of US support for Israel than the Obama administration (Note to Lefty blog Think Progress: Time to get a new picture. The one you used is from the 2008 campaign when Livni was Foreign Minister and Barak was Defense Minister). And now yet another pillar of the farce that has been

Another Jew who gets under Obama's skin
In May, we saw how Prime Minister Netanyahu got under President Obama's skin. In the budget negotiations, we saw another Jew do the same: Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (Va).I won't go into this too deeply, because it's off topic for this blog, but I'm sure Prime Minister Netanyahu would agree with this assessment (Hat Tip: Manhattan Dan): Like Mr. Cantor, President Obama is also a

'Loyal opposition' leader urges Obama to rape Israel
Remember David Landau, the Haaretz editor who urged US Secretary of State Condi Rice to rape Israel? In an interview with Jeffrey Goldberg, Israel's current opposition leader has urged Barack Hussein Obama to do the same. Q: You just suggested that when Obama pushed Netanyahu, people realized they needed to get a deal. Do you think that American pressure on Netanyahu has been constructive?TL:

Priorities: As world economy collapses, Obama worries about having to exercise a UN veto
Priorities, priorities. As the World economy collapses, with the Dow falling over 500 points on Thursday (Hat Tip: Memeorandum), President Obama has his real priorities straight. He is going to spend a good chunk of next week meeting with chief 'Palestinian' negotiator bottle washer Saeb Erekat, and Erekat's colleague Nabil Abu Rudeineh, to convince them to drop the 'Palestinians' unilateral bid

Guess who's financing the 'housing crisis' protests
I'm sure you'll all be shocked to hear Channel 2 News reported on Tuesday night that the Kadima party, led by Israel's number one opportunist, is paying for the signs used by 'protesters' in Tel Aviv, and is in constant contact with the protest leaders, in a bid to paint Prime Minister Netanyahu as solely responsible for the crisis (link in Hebrew). That's just plain wrong. Netanyahu gets some

The American obession with the 'return of the Israeli Left'
Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Take the uber-Leftist +972 online magazine, which explains why the 'return of the Israeli Left' isn't happening. What is it that makes so many American reports on events in Israel end up with the question of “the return of the Zionist Left?” Ethan Bronner’s recent story on the cost of living protest in Israel is yet another example of this trend. Israel agrees to negotiate over '1967 lines'?
An AP report indicates that Israel has agreed to 'negotiate' with the 'Palestinians' based upon the '1967 borders' 1949 armistice lines (Hat Tip: Gershon D). But Israel Radio tells a completely different story. In a speech about the Middle East in May, Obama proposed negotiations based on the pre-1967 line with agreed swaps of territory between Israel and a Palestinian state. Netanyahu reacted
They may want change but they don't want Livni
Over the last few days, we've been hearing that astronomical numbers of Israelis support the protest movement against Israel's 'housing crisis.' For example, Yediot Aharonot, Israel's largest circulation Hebrew daily, publishes a poll today that says that 91% of the Jewish public supports the protest regarding the housing question, 54% believe it will bring about change in the situation. 77%

Peres says, Netanyahu hints: Assad must go
President Shimon Peres says flat out, Assad must go. And Prime Minister Netanyahu hints at it. But will they do anything about it? Israeli politicians, while preferring not to interfere too vocally in the internal affairs of Arab states, have, when asked, made clear that they prefer to have democratic neighbors rather than dictatorial ones, both for the sake of human rights in the Arab world,

Space cadet holding secret talks with 'Palestinians' to restart talks
Israel's favorite space cadet, who is supposed to hold an honorary and not a policy-making position, has been holding 'secret' talks with the 'Palestinians' in an effort to get them back to the negotiating table for the first time in two and a half years. Haaretz has learned that on Tuesday night, Peres held a long meeting with the chief Palestinian negotiator, Saeb Erekat. The two went over
Will Israel apologize to Turkey or is it wishful thinking?
Defenseless defense minister Ehud Barak was in Washington this past week, where he was subjected to a full-court press by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and new Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta to apologize to Turkey for allowing the IDF to defend itself during the Mavi Marmara incident last year. Barak, who was inclined to apologize in the first place, told a news conference in Washington
