Tiger Woods – Master is Back in Better Way

tiger-woods-masters-practice After the scandal, the tiger is back as Master in  a better way.

At the end of an eventful day, even Woods was surprised. "A little bit, yeah," he acknowledged.

But as good as his start to the tournament was, the tone of the Woods comeback wasn't determined by his three birdies or the two eagles, but by the fans.

He was embraced, encouraged and applauded. We saw Thursday that forgiveness is possible; that people are willing to give Tiger Woods a second chance.

"The people, I haven't heard them cheer this loud in all my years here," he said.

"So it certainly helped keep my spirits up because I was certainly missing a bunch of putts out there. It helps when you get the crowd like that.

"I said thank you all the way. I was saying thank you all day. The people were just incredible, incredible all day."

Gulbis is considered to be a symbol in the LPGA. She released a 2005 calendar, just before the 2004 U.S. Women's Open, which featured her not only playing golf, but also in striking poses in swimwear. The United States Golf Association (USGA) barred it from being sold at the event, deeming it inappropriate. The calendar was sold very openly at Golf Canada; the USGA was criticized for overreacting. Gulbis also posed for the November 2004 issue of the magazine FHM, an issue that also gave away a chance to play golf with her at her home course, the Lake Las Vegas Resort, where her calendar photo shoot took place. Gulbis has said that she likes the attention she gets, even if it is for her appearance; she has endorsement deals with RSM McGladrey, TaylorMade Golf, Adidas, Canon, Raymond Weil geneve, Amstel Light, SkyCaddie, Payment Data Systems, MasterCard, Winn Golf Grips and Lake Las Vegas Resort. Gulbis was romantically linked to Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in 2005.
In 2006, Gulbis began writing a monthly golf advice column in FHM. In November 2005, a reality television show, The Natalie Gulbis Show, made its debut on The Golf Channel. The show had its second season premiere on October 18, 2006. Gulbis has also appeared on the 2007 version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour by EA Sports along with fellow professionals Annika Sörenstam, Ian Poulter and Luke Donald, among others. In August 2007 Gulbis appeared on the August/September cover of Sactown Magazine in an article that profiled the rising star's busy life of product endorsements and photo shoots, though frustratingly enough, no pro win. Gil Ozir, Vice President of Marketing for Raymond Weil (a luxury watchmaker and one of Gulbis' many endorsement deals) was quoted as saying, "Once she starts winning, she's going to be a megastar." A few days later, Gulbis won the Evian Masters, her first professional LPGA title.
In 2009, she will appear in the second season of Celebrity Apprentice.Throughout the season, each celebrity will be raising money for a charity of their choice; Gulbis has selected the Boys and Girls Club.

Annika Sorenstam Biography:
Annika Sorenstam is one of the greatest female golfers ever - many would say she's the best ever. Combining a cool efficiency with a passionate desire to win, Sorenstam was among the best players on Tour from her debut in the mid-90s through the remainder of the decade. But as the century turned, Sorenstam went on a run of success that rivals or surpasses anything else ever seen on the LPGA Tour.Sorenstam preferred tennis in her childhood, but took up golf at age 12. She quickly became good enough to start winning, but was very shy. She's said that she sometimes blew shots in order to finish second and avoid having to talk to anyone after a win.Sorenstam attended the University of Arizona where she was a two-time All-America selection and co-player of the year in 1991. She won the 1991 NCAA Championship and the 1992 World Amateur Championship.

Sorenstam turned pro in 1993 and was Rookie of the Year on the Ladies European Tour. She moved up to the LPGA in 1994 and, although she didn't win, was Rookie of the Year there, too.

That first win finally came at the 1995 U.S. Women's Open, and Sorenstam took off on what might be the best career in LPGA history. From 1995 through 2006, Sorenstam won eight money titles and never finished lower than fourth. She won 69 tournaments and 10 majors in that span.

Sorenstam was one of the best players throughout the mid- to late-90s, winning three times in 1997, six in 1997, four in 1998, twice in 1999, and five times in 2000.

Then she rededicated herself to being the best, hitting the gym to add strength - and yards to her drives. She befriended Tiger Woods and picked up some of Woods' practice habits; she improved her chipping and putting.

Sorenstam's domination from 2001-2005 was complete: she was money leader, low scorer and Player of the Year every year. Her win totals included 11 in 2002 and 10 in 2005.

She became one of the longest hitters on the tour without losing any of her pinpoint accuracy. Along the way, she became much more comfortable in front of the cameras, her public demeanor becoming more confident, and won over many more fans.

At the 2003 Colonial, Sorenstam became the first woman since Babe Didrikson Zaharias to play on the PGA Tour. Sorenstam shot 71-75 and missed the cut, but earned plaudits for her play and the way she handled the publicity circus.

The instructional book Golf Annika's Way (compare prices) was released in 2004.

Sorenstam dominated the LPGA Tour again in 2005, but her play slipped in 2006 - with "only" three wins, she was surpassed by Lorena Ochoa at the top of the LPGA pecking order.

Sorenstam suffered a neck injury in 2007 that limited her schedule, and at the end of the year she had recorded only her second winless season on the LPGA.

By early 2008, however, Sorenstam was back, with three wins early in the season. However, on May 13, 2008, Sorenstam announced it would be her final season on the LPGA Tour - she would leave competitive golf at the end of the year.

Tiger woods Photos, Bio, Profile

Tiger woodsTiger woods
Eldrick Tont "Tiger" Woods(born December 30, 1975) is an American professional golfer whose achievements to date rank him among the most successful golfers of all time. Currently the World No. 1, he was the highest-paid professional athlete in 2007, having earned an estimated $122 million from winnings and endorsements.

Woods has won fourteen professional major golf championships, the second highest of any male player, and 65 PGA Tour events, third all time. He has more career major wins and career PGA Tour wins than any other active golfer. He is the youngest player to achieve the career Grand Slam, and the youngest and fastest to win 50 tournaments on tour.

Woods has held the number one position in the world rankings for the most consecutive weeks and for the greatest total number of weeks. He has been awarded PGA Player of the Year a record nine times, the Byron Nelson Award for lowest adjusted scoring average a record eight times, and has tied Jack Nicklaus' record of leading the money list in eight different seasons. He has been named Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year a record-tying four times, and is the only person to be named Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year more than once.

Woods was the first African American to win the Masters in 1997 at Augusta National; a tournament where no black player competed until 1975 and a club that didn't admit black members until six years previously.

After winning the 2008 U.S. Open, Woods missed the rest of the 2008 PGA Tour, missing two major championships and the 2008 Ryder Cup, in order to rehabilitate his injured left knee.

In November 2003, Woods became engaged to Elin Nordegren, a Swedish model. They were introduced during The Open Championship in 2001 by Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik, who had employed her as an au pair. They married on October 5, 2004 at the Sandy Lane resort on the Caribbean island of Barbados and live at Isleworth, a community in Windermere, a suburb of Orlando, Florida. They also have homes in Jackson, Wyoming, California, and Sweden. In January 2006, they purchased a $39 million residential property in Jupiter Island, Florida, which they intend to make their primary residence.[11] Their Jupiter Island neighbors will include fellow golfers Gary Player, Greg Norman and Nick Price, as well as singers Celine Dion and Alan Jackson. In 2007, a guest house on the Jupiter Island estate was destroyed in a fire caused by lightning.

Early in the morning of June 18, 2007, Elin gave birth to the couple's first child, a daughter, Sam Alexis Woods, in Orlando. The birth occurred just one day after Woods finished tied for second in the 2007 U.S. Open. Tiger chose to name his daughter Sam because his father said that Tiger looked more like a Sam. On September 2, 2008, Woods announced on his website that he and his wife are expecting their second child.
