Frank Gehry designed the Hotel Marqués de Riscal in Elciego Spain, completed in September 2006. It is located at the top of a hill of the historic wineries of Vinos Herederos del Marques de Riscal.
Traditional sandstone block forms are lifted above the reception area, with tall areas of glazing for views over the city and countryside. A dark indoor pool reflects the white soft white interior. Fourteen guest rooms, conference rooms, and a restaurant in the upper floors are introduced to Gehry's iconic wavy metal forms. This dynamic explosion emerges colorfully into the air.
