NH Architecture and Woods Bagot designed the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on the edge of the Yarra River in the South Wharf; two buildings which opened in 1996 and 2009. It has the largest pillarless floor space in the southern hemisphere, and the new building is the first convention center to receive a Six Green Star environmental rating. It also features a 5,000 seat plenary hall.
