German Consul General in Hong Kong Mr. Frank Burbach and Secretary for Labour & Welfare of the HKSAR Government Mr. Matthew Cheung signed on 26 June 2009 a Declaration of Intent which established a mutual Working Holiday Scheme. The Consulat is happy to announce that due to high demand the quota for the working hoilday scheme for the period of 1 July 2010 until 30 June 2011 has been increased up to 150. Between 1 July 2009 and 30 June 2010 the German Consulate General issued 124 Working Holiday Visa to young Hong Kongers aged 18 to 30 years. The originally foreseen quota of 100 for the passed year had even to be increased in April 2010 in order to be able to meet the great interest.
