LOS ANGELES — An FBI spokeswoman in Los Angeles says agents are investigating a series of computer hacking attacks on celebrities including Scarlett Johansson. Unauthorized nude pictures of the actress surfaced onlineon Wednesday.
The FBI's Laura Eimiller said Wednesday that dozens of celebrities had been targeted by hackers, who stole personal information from email and other computer accounts.
She declined to provide further details, but several websites including TMZ have identified one of the victims as Scarlett Johansson.
A message left with the actress' spokeswoman was not immediately returned.
The alleged images of Johansson appeared on the Web site BuzzFeed Wednesday, and edited versions have shown up elsewhere on the Internet.
The images show a woman, who appears to be Johansson, photographing her own bare breasts and buttocks, but since the actress has not commented on the photos, it can not be verified that they are genuine.
It has been reported that Johansson contacted the FBI after the photos surfaced Wednesday.
