Akershus University Hospital, Oslo Norway

C. F. Møller Architects designed the Akershus University "Ahus" Hospital near Oslo Norway, completed in 2008. Each section of the €1 billion project takes its own form, with a glass thoroughfare "street" running through the center. The layout is rational and allows for quick navigation.

Soft wood is used in the interior and visual connections to the natural environment help in patient care. Transparency and sunlight penetration are key to this small city of a hospital. Geothermal energy storage contribute to a sustainable design.
