The 1935 Tokyo Municipal Takanawadai Elementary School in Minato-ku Takanawa was renovated in 2005 after fire and earthquake damage.
Modern touches to the historic primary school include glass facades in front of public staircases, white concrete walls, wood interiors, and solar panels on the green roof.
